Bioware has revealed their plans for the Star Wars MMORPG, The Old Republic for 2014 and it seems its not slowing down. Multiple updates are promised and two more expansions packs are on the way.
The update schedule will be revised for 2014, expanding the time between two minor updates from 2 to 3 weeks. “There is one change to our development cadence I would like to share: In order to increase our testing time before Game Updates, we are going to move to a 3 week cycle between minor patches, instead of two weeks. While this does mean we are moving to a 9 week cadence for the major content updates, we feel the benefit of catching pesky bugs and improving quality is worth it and we remain committed to hitting our deadlines for all of our major content updates this year.” declared Bruce Maclean, senior producer at Bioware.
There will be another double XP weekend coming soon, more specifically between the 14th and 17th of March. In addition, two major updates are announced for the 8th of April (Update 2.7) and the 10th of June (2.8). The two will bring new Nightmare Mode Operations (Dread Fortress and Dread Palace), two new flashpoints, a new Huttball Warzone on Quesh, a new space battle zone and many more.
