Hospital drama, Red Band Society,” produced by Steven Spielberg has been picked up for a series by Fox. The drama will be set in the paediatric wing of a hospital featuring a group of high school teens who team up to become an unlikely team and eventually friends.
“This is one of the most ambitious and unorthodox shows in anyone’s development this year,” said the Fox announcement. “It represents a completely inspired way into young soap, a comedic one-hour, a hospital show and a (surrogate) family drama.”
Nagle (“Boardwalk Empire”) is exec producing along with Steven Spielberg, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank and Sergio Aguero. Alfonso Gomez-Rejon (“American Horror Story”) directed the pilot. The show is a remake of the Catalan TV show “Polseres Vermelles.”
